“In my opinion, spa and medical tourism represent a niche that Romania should not overlook. It is true that the infrastructure is not what we would like it to be, and for this reason I said that one of the strategic priorities we need to address in the next period is to correlate the natural potential with specific infrastructure investments. Consequently, one of the strategic priorities for 2013 will be to invest in infrastructure in order to develop medical and health tourism, “said the minister according to Agerpres.
Romania has the potential to export dental, plastic surgery and cardiac medical services but the local medical service offer is not sufficiently promoted said health minister Vasile Cepoi during the same event.
“We can export dental services and we have already begun to do this, but also plastic surgery and cardiac medical services,” he said.
Spa tourism is another opportunityRomaniashould not miss but the services offered by hotels from local spa resorts are often unsatisfactory, added Cepoi.
