1921 Gucci Café – the label’s first full service restaurant in Shanghai

One of the world’s most famous brands, Gucci has recently opened its first full-service restaurant in Shanghai, according to www.luxuo.com. The restaurant is called 1921 Gucci Café, making reference to the year of the label’s foundation, thus paying a tribute to the brand.

The restaurant is located on one of Shanghai’s most popular commercial avenues, in a luxury shopping mall, IAPM, and can be accessed via an elevator that goes from the Gucci store.

The interior design reflects the Gucci style: golden shades and velvety coverings, 1921Gucci logo stamped on menus, napkins, cutlery etc. The restaurant offers a wide variety of authentic Italian dishes: bruschetta, made with marinated tomatoes, garlic and basil and spaghetti with mussels, urchins and calamari are only a few options from the menu.

There is also a Gucci-themed café at the Gucci museum in Florence, which opened in 2011 however, 1921 Gucci Café is the first full-service restaurant of the label.
