According to digitaltrends.com, an American company has designed a smart wine bottle which could mark the beginning of a new era in wine consumption.

The device is a Wi-Fi-connected wine bottle which keeps the wine fresh for up to a month. It has a touchscreen that displays information about the wine inside, and even offers the possibility to order more wine right from the bottle.

The smart wine bottle only takes special aluminum wine canisters made by the company that designed the device. The device is activated by inserting a 750 ml wine canister into the dispenser that works just like a regular wine bottle, except that it doesn’t need a cork.

The bottle has a valve on the top that keeps the wine fresh and using an accelerometer and a microprocessor the smart bottle knows when it is being tilted thus allowing pouring the wine. After pouring is finished the special tilt-activated valve system reseals the can, preventing the remainder of the wine from being exposed to air, which keeps it from going bad.

Modern, classy and sophisticated wine serving, access to additional information, conscious consumption, and opting for premium quality are these days’ main tendencies manifesting in wine consumption.
